Tuam will host a major community event this weekend to mark Africa Day 2026. (8/5)
The annual event celebrates the diversity, achievements and cultural contributions of the 54 countries on the continent.
Events are taking place across the county - but the cornerstone Tuam event is organised by the local African community, Galway County County and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
It's a free, family-orientated event full of live music, cultural performances, community stalls, food offerings and children's actitives.
It takes place at the Palace Grounds in Tuam on Saturday from 2pm until 5pm.
David Nevin has been speaking to organisers Jennie Swannock and Seun Obisesan.
