Galway Bay fm newsroom - UHG has the second highest number of Covid 19 patients today.

The acute hospital is providing care to 27 coronavirus patients.

Five patients are receiving care at the ICU - the third highest ICU number nationwide.

East of the county, there are two Covid 19 patients being treated at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, with no virus patients in the ICU.

Nationwide, there are 311 coronavirus patients in hospitals today.
