University of Galway is to unveil a major engineering centre this morning, with investment from a leading multinational firm.
The Ward & Burke Centre for Infrastructure Research and Innovation is to be established alongside a new Signature Partnership with the Kilcolgan-based company.
The investment will allow for significant advancement of research, impact and innovation, with a focus on water systems, underground construction, climate resilience and digital engineering.
Along with the new research centre, a new civil engineering professorship and a scholarship programme have been established.
The official launch and announcement is taking place from 9 this morning.
