Well known Galway-based solicitor Olivia Traynor is to be a District Court Judge.
Ms Traynor is one of 8 new members nominated by the Government.
The nominations follow a selection process conducted by the Judicial Appointments Commission.
Olivia Traynor, who's a graduate of University College Cork, qualified as a solicitor in 2002.
