A wildlife expert says people can blame themselves for the way seagulls have become aggressive burglars.
The issue's back in the spotlight after Galway Clinic was forced to issue a warning to patients about nearby nesting gulls that may act aggressively.
Seagulls are in nesting season during April and May, and hatching typically happens in June.
Wildlife consultant Éanna Ní Lamhna says people can blame themselves for the birds' harassment:
Earlier, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Councillor Frank McNamara said there are similar issues in his area, and has suggested releasing hawks to keep the birds away
But Éanna Ní Lamhna doesn't believe hawks would have the desired effect:
