Work is now underway to reverse the narrowing of a junction as part of the Ballybane/Castlepark active travel scheme.
The scheme to reduce the road space and install cycle lanes, which is now nearing completion, has been ongoing since last year.
There was some controversy over the project - and a particular sore point was the narrowing of many junctions along the scheme.
Local councillor Shane Forde says work has now started to widen the junction at Walter Macken Road.
