Works underway in Athenry to improve water supply

Works are underway in Athenry to help provide people with a more secure water supply.

The leakage reduction works will involve the replacement of ageing water mains along Barrack Street, Abbey Row, Caheroyn Road and the Crescent.

Uisce Éireann says the works will improve water quality and the resilience of the network, eliminating existing leaks and reducing the amount of clean water lost into the ground.

The project is being delivered by Farrans Construction, with completion expected this summer.

Traffic management will be in place at times throughout the works, and people can check the Uisce Éireann website for regular updates on any disruption.
