A unique 'Freedom Wall' will form a major part of this year's Galway Cartoon Festival, which gets underway today.
It'll see drawings from professional artists and children, centered around the concept of fundamental freedoms, displayed on Galway's old medieval city walls.
Professional works can be seen at Lower Merchants Road near the Pálás Cinema - while children's art will be displayed at the Eyre Square Centre.
The Galway Cartoon Festival runs from today until Wednesday - and a full list of events is available at GalwayCartoonFestival.ie
Artistic Director Richard Chapman says this year's festival will have an emphasis on comics, especially the grand comics movements of the 60s.
