Calls for traffic calming measures at Knocknacarra national school

Calls have been made for traffic calming measures at Knocknacarra Educate Together primary school on Cappagh road.

A meeting of Galway City Council's west ward heard that motorists are often breaking red lights at the pedestrian crossing outside the school, raising concerns for student's safety.

Potential solutions suggested by Independent Councillor Donal Lyons include extra speed signage and speed detector signs.

Speaking to Galway Bay FM, Cllr Lyons says that these changes need to be made before it's too late.
