Commuters requiring assistance to travel are now guaranteed help at 15 major stations, including Galway, if Irish Rail is informed one hour before departure.

The change takes effect at 15 stations nationwide today, with the rest still needing to ask for a 12 hour call-ahead.

Irish Rail Spokesperson Barry Kenny, says they want trains to be accessible to all.
