The Men’s Interprovincial Championship in Knightsbrook remains in the balance ahead of the final day as one point separates fourth from first. Connacht (pictured) lead on 1 ½ points, having beaten Munster 6-5 and shared a tie with Ulster 5 ½ - 5 ½. Reigning champions Leinster and Munster share a point apiece, with Leinster just narrowly taking the edge into second place on matches won, while Ulster hold half a point in fourth following their draw with Connacht on the opening day. The Connacht team features David Kitt from Athenry Golf Club and Luke O'Neill from Connemara, but both were part of Connacht pairings that were beaten by Leinster this morning. Leinster won 3 out of the 4 morning Foursomes, so they are now favourites to clinch the title with seven singles matches getting underway just before 2 o'clock.
The 2023 champions, Ulster, are in a prime position heading into the final day of the Women's Interprovincial Championship. Ulster lost their crown last year when Munster were victorious, but with two wins out of the three morning foursomes matches against Connacht, the Ulster girls are favourites to win back the title, with six singles matches getting underway at 1 o'clock this afternoon (Friday). Renmore native Aoife Kelly from Galway Bay Golf Resort is part of the Connacht squad. Connacht beat Munster 6-3 in their opening match on Wednesday, but lost out 5 1/2 to 3 1/2 to Leinster yesterday.
