ROADWORKS

Road resurfacing and strengthening works on Murrough Avenue until Friday June 5th between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm daily.

Temporary traffic management measures will be in place throughout the duration of the project. During working hours, the area will operate under local access only restrictions.

 

Road resurfacing works on Lower Newcastle Road from the N6 Quincentennial Bridge Junction to the University Hospital Junction until Friday 29th May.  The works are scheduled to take place four nights per week, Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 7:00pm and 6:00am.

Traffic management will be in place during these works and will include:

  • Stop/Go systems
  • Temporary lane closures
  • Localised diversions where required

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time where roadworks, maintenance works, or traffic management measures are in place. Delays may occur on major routes approaching Galway City, including commuter routes, national roads, and key junctions during peak travel periods.

Road users should follow all temporary traffic signage, observe reduced speed limits where applicable, and exercise caution when passing through active work zones. Drivers are also reminded to observe all Rules of the Road, wear seatbelts, and remain alert at all times while travelling.
