Droopys Map upset the odds to claim the Kilcolgan Castle Connacht Greyhound Derby on Saturday (14th March 2026) to come home first at 9/2 in Galway Greyhound Stadium.
The Murt Leahy-trained runner didn't register a victory in the earlier rounds but Droopys Map hit form at just the right time to come from fourth favourite to take the spoils.
Galway Bay FM's George McDonagh reports.
Afterwards, George caught up with Droopys Map trainer Murt Leahy and owner Martin Costigan.
Finally, George chatted to numerous guests, including Hughie Keleghan (Chairperson - Owners & Breeders Association), James Murray (Racing Manager), Martin Burke (GRI Ireland), and Robert Connolly (Sponsor Merlin Bar A2 Stake).
But first, he chatted to Connacht Derby sponsor Karen Geoghegan.
