The 2025 World Rowing Cup II concluded on Sunday in Lucerne, Switzerland, with Ireland securing a silver and two bronze medals over the weekend.
Silver for Fiona Murtagh in the Women’s Single Sculls
Bronze for Fintan McCarthy & Konan Pazzaia in the Men’s Double Sculls
Bronze for Sadhbh Ní Laoighre & Tiarnán O'Donnell in the PR3 Mixed Double Sculls
There were also 5th place finishes for Galway's Siobhán McCrohan (LW1x) and Paul O'Donovan & Daire Lynch (M2x), with strong performances from Alison Bergin, the men's quad and women's four. For Galway's Fiona Murtagh, it was another very satisfying performance in her new event, the Singles Sculls. In her final on Saturday, race favourite Lauren Henry (Great Britain) took gold, with Fiona holding off Denmark's Frida Sanggaard Nielsen for second place. The trio are likely to renew their rivalry in the World Championships in September.
