This week on Next Gen Galway, Kayte O'Malley is joined by journalist Craig Hughes.
In 2022 Craig, who was just 30 at the time, decided to found a music festival. With minimal festival experience, Craig enlisted the help of his uncles Declan and Brendan and Night and Day was born.
The first year saw the Zutons, Orla Gartland, Mary Wallopers take to the stage at Clonalis House over a weekend in September with over 1,500 people in attendance.
Since then, the festival has moved venue to Lough Key Forest Park and now takes place on the June Bank Holiday and has gone from strength to strength. This year's installment is well on its way to selling out a capacity crowd of 5,000!

Craig reminisces about the early days of the festival, roping family and friends in to get it off the ground. He also reveals that the Sawdoctors, who are headlining this year's event, have been on his wishlist since the beginning! Plus, just announced, a new collaboration between the Roisin Dubh and Blue Note.
If you're heading to this year's festival ,this a must listen - plus you can catch the winners of the Night and Day Song Contest.
