Galway began the defence of their All-Ireland Camogie title with defeat to Cork in Kenny Park Athenry on Saturday aftermoon in Kenny Park, Athenry.
With the aid of a strong wind, the Rebelettes led by 0-13 to 0-4 at half time, but despite a stoppage time goal from Oranmore-Maree's Ailish O'Reilly Galway could not find a way back into the contest.
Galway's next game is away to Waterford on Sunday next (June 14th) in Walsh Park at 2 pm.
