Dooctor.ie Become New Title Sponsor Of LGFA’s National Volunteer Of The Year Awards

THE Ladies Gaelic Football Association is delighted to announce dooctor.ie as new sponsor of the LGFA National Volunteer of the Year awards.

The 2025 awards, which will be presented at Croke Park on Friday, January 23, will be referred to as the LGFA National Volunteer of the Year awards, in association with dooctor.ie.

Dooctor.ie is an Ireland-based healthcare provider offering both walk-in clinics and online doctor services.

Their goal is simple: to make healthcare as easy and convenient as possible for everyone - whether you're at home, at work, or on the go.

The LGFA National Volunteer of the Year awards scheme, in its ninth year and now boosted by the addition of dooctor.ie as official sponsor, acknowledges the sterling and unselfish work of volunteers working in Ladies Football.

Administrators, coaches and media are among those who will be honoured across the eight categories, while the LGFA will also welcome a winner into the Volunteer Hall of Fame.

The Overall Volunteer of the Year award will receive the Lulu Carroll award, named after the late Lulu Carroll, who was a 2001 All-Ireland senior medallist with Laois.

Lulu, who passed away in 2007, was a committed servant to Ladies Football at club and county levels, and one of the game’s most popular and well-known figures.

Lulu, a former All-Star recipient, also won eight Leinster titles with Laois, along with six county senior titles and a provincial crown at club level with Timahoe.

The 2025 winners will be announced tomorrow, Tuesday January 13, ahead of the Croke Park event on Friday January 23.

Commenting on the news that dooctor.ie will sponsor the awards, Ladies Gaelic Football Association President Trina Murray said: “On behalf of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, I am delighted to welcome dooctor.ie on board as new sponsors of our National Volunteer of the Year Awards. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of the LGFA, giving countless hours to support players, clubs, schools and communities across the country.

“It is only fitting that their dedication, compassion and commitment are recognised and celebrated on a national stage. We are proud to partner with dooctor.ie, an organisation that shares our values of care, accessibility and community wellbeing.

“Their innovative approach to healthcare reflects the modern, people-focused ethos of our Association. This sponsorship strengthens our ability to shine a light on the extraordinary individuals who quietly make our games possible every day.

“We look forward to working closely with dooctor.ie and celebrating the inspiring stories of our volunteers, whose selfless efforts continue to shape the future of Ladies Gaelic Football for generations to come.”

Speaking on behalf of dooctor.ie, company founder Dr Hafiz Mohd Ali said: “We are absolutely delighted to be teaming up with the LGFA for such a prestigious occasion as the National Volunteer Awards.

“There is an incredible amount of work being done at grassroots level to support female sport across Ireland, much of it driven by dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy and passion to their communities.

“The LGFA’s commitment to recognising and rewarding the people who keep these traditions alive is both inspiring and richly deserved.”
