Galway booked their place in the Connacht FBD League Final after a comfortable 2-19 to 0-14 victory over Leitrim in Tuam Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Matthew Thompson, who will leave the panel to begin a period of study in the United States, showed Padraig Joyce what he will miss over the coming months as he ended the afternoon with a personal tally of 2-6.
Leitrim did lead at the break by 0-10 to 1-4, but Galway fought back in the second half to set up a FBD League Final with Mayo next Sunday at 1 pm in Tuam Stadium.
