Galway success at the All-Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships

The All-Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships were held in Tullamore at the weekend, with five senior titles coming to Galway. Orlaith Mannion from Seamount Kinvara won her second successive Senior Girls 100m Hurdles title in a time of 13.81 seconds. Darragh Fahy from St Brigids College Loughrea produced one of the standout Triple Jump performances of 13 metres 98 to win the Senior Boys competition, while Darragh Kelly from Clarin College Athenry jumped 1 metre 89 to win the Senior Boys High Jump title. Both All-Ireland Senior 3000 metres Walk titles came to Galway thanks to Caoimhe Phelan from Holy Rosary College Mountbellew and Matthew Newell from Colaiste Bhaile Chlair.
