Galway United booked their place in the All-Island Cup Final for the third time in four years after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Peamount United in Headford on Saturday evening.
Peamount took the lead on 38 minutes through Sorcha Melia, and it took a stoppage time equaliser from Anna McGough sent the game straight to a penalty shootout.
Spot kicks from Amanda McQuillan, Kate Thompson, Emma Doherty, Lucy-Jane Grant and a save by McQuillan to deny Sophie Byrne set up Niamh Farrelly to slot home the winner to set up a final date with Shelbourne at Tolka Park on Saturday July 18th at 7:35 pm.
