Galway United Women ended their home league campaign on a high, beating Waterford by 3-0. The game was delayed by 30 minutes due to some damage to the East Stand of Eamonn Deacy Park caused by Storm Amy. United were slow out of the blocks, and it took until the 47th minute to make the breakthrough, thanks to Emma Doherty. Galway were firmly in control from that point on as Doherty grabbed her second and Amanda Smith added a third off the bench in stoppage time.
It was a good end to the Tribeswomen's home campaign, and with Shelbourne's win over Wexford on Saturday, Galway are now guaranteed a third-place finish in the Premier Division.
