Mayo used the elements to their favour in the Connacht Minor Football Semi-Final at MacHale Park, Castlebar on Friday (2nd May 2025) to put Galway out of the Tier 1 championship.

Oran Murphy's goal kept the hosts in touch before they pulled clear after the break thanks to strikes from Tony Carey and Rhys Neary ended the maroon and white dreams and put them into the Tier 2 competition for the second consecutive year.
