Four weeks since concluding their National Hurling League campaign, Galway begin their quest to win a first Leinster senior championship since 2018 when they host the seven-in-row chasing Kilkenny on Saturday (18th April 2026).
The Tribesmen fell to the Noresiders in four of those previous six deciders (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2025), but are unbeaten in their three home meetings so far since the round-robin series was introduced in 2018. Galway also beat Kilkenny 0-35 to 0-17 six weeks ago in the league.
Galway captain Darren Morrissey spoke about the positivity around the Galway Camp, the infusion of youth and the massive challenge ahead of them on Saturday when he spoke to Galway Bay FM's Sean Walsh at the Launch of the Leinster Championship at Kinnity Castle Hotel recently.
At the recent Launch of the Leinster SHC in Kinnitty Castle, Kilkenny star Eoin Cody spoke to Sean and clearly outlined how Kilkenny have focused on this game for the past six weeks since the heavy loss to Galway in the League.
Throw-in at Pearse Stadium next Saturday is 4.30pm and we'll have LIVE coverage on Galway Bay FM.
Hurling Chat this week will preview the Leinster SHC with Andy Coen, Cyril Farrell, Johnny Coen & Jeff Lynskey joining Niall & Sean.
