The Domino's National Basketball Leagues begin this weekend with all four Galway teams playing in Division 1 and tipping-off their campaigns on Saturday (4th October 2025).

Maigh Cuilinn are the only team at home as they welcome Killarney Cougars to the Kingfisher at 7pm in the Men's Division 1. Head coach Paul O'Brien has been chatting to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly.
Former Ireland senior captain Jason Killeen has taken over at Maree as they begin life in Division 1 after being relegated from the Super League. They travel to St. Mary's Hall to play Portlaoise Panthers, also at 7pm. Jason also caught up with Darren.
Erin Bracken won National Leagues and Cups with Liffey Celtics and has built up an impressive coaching CV with Ireland underage teams and Dublin Lions. She became Titans head coach in July and they head to Killarney Sports & Leisure Centre to face SPK Utility Trust Leaders at 7.30pm. She also spoke to Darren.
Finally, Paul Langan has taken over at University of Galway Mystics as they begin their Women's Division 1 programme with a trip to O'Loughlin Gaels to take on Kilkenny Stars at 6pm. He looked ahead to the season with Galway Bay FM's John Mulligan.
