Turloughmore's Michael Duffy To Return For Longines Global Champions Tour Of Shanghai

Turloughmore Showjumper Michael Duffy will return for this weekend's Longines Global Champions Tour of Shanghai, which begins on Friday week.

The 2025 edition will welcome a powerhouse line-up of 52 riders from around the globe, including Duffy, who finished third in last year's event.

Also returning are the first and second from last year, in champion Gilles Thomas, last year’s runner-up Edwina Tops-Alexander

With all three returning to the LGCT arena in Shanghai, anticipation is soaring for another unforgettable showdown.

Joining them are some of the biggest names in the sport, with the likes of world number one Henrik von Eckermann, three-time LGCT Champion Ben Maher, and reigning LGCT Champion Max Kühner. With over 20 of the riders in Shanghai having won a LGCT Grand Prix before, it's all to play for as the star-studded list continues with Daniel Deusser, Janne Friederike Meyer Zimmermann, Simon Delestre, Scott Brash, Philipp Weishaupt, Marcus Ehning, Pieter Devos, and Nicola Philippaerts.

Shanghai, known for its dynamism and innovation, is ready to welcome back the LGCT with open arms, promising a spectacle that will captivate audiences worldwide. For the second year running the event will take place at purpose-built venue of the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center, located at the Expo Park, poised to exceed expectations once again.

Also returning are the crowd favourites Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Victor Bettendorf, Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli, Lorenzo de Luca and Denis Lynch, alongside a strong contingent of next-generation talents including Robert Murphy, Qinyu Pang and Anastasia Nielsen.
