National Cross Country Championships: The second day of the National Cross Country Championships, the National Uneven Ages Juveniles and Mens and Women’s Novice Cross Country Championships will be held on Sunday, December 7th, in the National Sports Campus in Dublin. Another big Galway contingent will travel to the capital, with over 100 Juvenile athletes qualified, with the first race off at 11.30 am. In the Novice events, Galway City Harriers field strong Mens and Women’s teams, while Craughwell and Castlegar AC also field Men's squads. Aimad Belayd of Castlegar, Sean Cotter and Mathys Bocquet of Craughwell and Evan O'Rourke of Maree AC will expect to place high in what will be a fast and furious Mens 6km event. Ladies race over 4km.

Schools Award: At the National Athletics Awards in Dublin last week, Sean Doggett (pictured) was awarded the Schools Athlete of the Year prize for his Schools championship wins and international appearances in a stellar year over 400 m for the Athenry AC athlete.
