World rowing champion Fiona Murtagh received a hero's welcome this morning as she returned home to Maigh Cuilinn with the community coming out in force to celebrate her gold medal victory in the women’s single sculls at the World Rowing Championships.
The homecoming event was held at Páirc Mhaigh Cuilinn, the GAA clubhouse and included a short on-stage interview and a Q&A session where children got the opportunity to ask Fiona questions followed by a meet-and-greet with photo opportunities for those attending.
Ollie Turner was there and he spoke to Fiona.
