Galway Bay fm newsroom - 157 sightings of lion's mane jellyfish have been recorded along the western seaboard this year.

Figures obtained by the National Biodiversity Data Centre reveal the jellyfish were reported in Galway, Clare, Kerry, Donegal, Sligo and Mayo.

There were 61 sightings in Galway, where the lion's mane was the most commonly recorded wild animal by the National Biodiversity Data Centre.
