Almost all recommendations made by reviews into the care of mothers and their babies at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe have now been implemented.
It comes amid the transfer high risk pregnancies away from Portiuncula due to a high number of deaths and complications in such cases.
A meeting of the Health Forum West last night heard reviews of five cases are still ongoing, but are expected to be completed by the middle of this year.
But management said there are currently no plans to return high-risk pregnancies to Portiuncula, with focus still on the safe transfer of these cases to UHG.
An external management team appointed last year is also to remain in place for some time, even after all recommendations are 100% implemented.
Local Councillor Dr. Evelyn Parsons is concerned there's a real risk that maternity services will not be fully restored.
