Almost half a million euro in funding has been announced for a series of youth projects in Galway.
The allocations are made through the Creative Youth Nurture Fund scheme, which supports cultural and creative projects around children and young people nationwide.
The largest dedicated local allocation in Galway is €87 thousand to Galway Community Circus, for a programme known as "Circus For All".
It supports people with fewer opportunities by offering creative physical activities that promote health, confidence, and social inclusion.
Meanwhile, ATU has received almost €100 thousand for a project split between Donegal and Galway, known as "Welcome to My World: Voice Beyond Words".
It'll create a space for non-verbal neurodivergent and disabled young people to engage creatively using sensory skills, patterns, spirals and other forms.
A quarter million towards Narrative 4 CLG will cover counties Galway, Down, Wicklow, Limerick, Kerry, Clare and Antrim.
That project focuses on a cross-border cultural exchange of stories.
Finally, €30 thousand has been allocated to the National Concert Hall Music in Mind Youth Programme, which covers Galway, Dublin, Wicklow and Donegal.
It promotes quality of life for those with mental health concerns through active engagement with music, self-expression and greater social inclusion.
