Approval for 7 new special classes in Galway

Approval has been granted for 7 new special classes in Galway schools.

3 will be in Galway City, with St. Nicholas' Primary School, Dominican College and Colaiste na Coiribe all recieving new classes.

The four County Galway schools are - Clarin College Athenry, Creagh National School in Tuam, Scoil Mhic Dara, an Ceathrú Rua and Cummer National School in Tuam.

In total, 168 classes have been assigned to 159 schools nationwide, with more to be sanctioned over the coming weeks.

Education Minister and Fine Gael TD for Galway West, Hildegarde Naughton announced that a total 400 special classes and 300 special school places will be set up nationwide.
