Approvals been given for plans to replace the organ at St. Nicholas Collegiate Church in the city.
The plan is just one part of a wider plan to redesign and rejuvenate the iconic church, which dates back to the 12th century.
The replacement of the organ will take years to complete, as there's a 4 year lead time for construction, and considerable internal works to the church are also needed.
The current organ is described as needing regular ‘band-aid’ running repairs.
St. Nicholas Church is a protected structure, which carries many considerations, but city planners have now approved the plans.
