An archaeological discovery is adding further delays to a long-planned affordable housing scheme at Merlin Park.
That's according to Councillor Alan Cheevers, in relation to the Merlin Woods scheme which was first announced over 5 years ago.
Now, it seems an archaeological site has been discovered during groundwork investigations on the site earmarked for almost 90 homes.
Fianna Fail Councillor Cheevers says questions have to be asked as to why ground investigations weren't done before now given the site is so close to Merlin Castle.
