Galway Bay fm newsroom - A group of up to 20 demonstrators gathered outside of County Hall in the city in the past hour to protest the neglect of Athenry town.
The group gathered at Prospect Hill ahead of the monthly council meeting which got underway at 11am.
Athenry locals are concerned about the number of derelict sites in the town and what they say is a lack of progress on the wastewater treatment plant.
