The sod turning for the long-awaited Newcastle Community Centre in the city is to take place later this week
The purpose of the event is to officially mark the commencement of construction of the facility
Minister for Community Development Dara Calleary will officially turn the sod on the Newcastle development at 7.30 on Thursday evening
The two-storey centre, which will include a sports hall, meeting rooms and an AstroTurf pitch, will be located in Moyola Park beside the existing Croí building.
