Approximately €40 million has been allocated by the government for four major housing infrastructure projects in Galway East.
Lands for 2,234 homes will be directly unlocked from projects at the Northern Relief Road and Raheen Road in Athenry, Sun Street, Tuam, and George's Street in Gort.
According to Galway East Fianna Fáil TD Albert Dolan each project has been allocated a maximum of €10 million under the Governments Housing Infrastructure fund and housing activation intiatives.
The Athenry Northern Relief road and the addition of waste water infrastructure on the Raheen road will each unlock a maximum of 800 dwellings.
Projects in Sun Street, Tuam and George Street, Gort, will provide the potential to deliver 400 and 234 homes respectively.
