A call has been made for the reinstatement of a bus service to Rosshill.
This comes as further resedential development and additional housing is being planned for the area.
Fianna Fail City Councillor Alan Cheevers has requested that senior City Council planners write to the National Transport Authority regarding the restoration of services.
The area has not had an active bus service for over 15 years, despite a bus shelter being installed on the Rosshill road during that time.
Cllr Cheevers says that it is essential public transport infrastructure keeps pace with any population growth.
