President of ATU Dr Orla Flynn is calling for permission to employ professors at Technological Universities.
Dr Flynn is warning that Technological Universities like ATU risk losing their senior academics to other institutions, leading to what she described as a 'Brain Drain'.
Irish legacy Universities employ between 10 and 15% of their staff at professor level, which has left Technological Universities at a disadvantage when it comes to attracting students.
