The average price per acre of residentially zoned land in Galway is just over €300,000.
That’s relatively high compared to other areas parts of the country - but still cheaper than Dublin, Kildare, Sligo, Westmeath, Kerry and Cork.
Dublin was the most expensive region to buy Residentially Zoned Land, with a median price per acre of €643,000.
According to CSO figures for 2024, land was least expensive in Tipperary, where the median price was €63,000 per acre.
92 acres were sold in the Western region last year, which in the data includes Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
The highest volume of Residentially Zoned Land, 179 acres, was sold in the Mid-West region, which includes Limerick, Clare and Tipperary.
