Ballinasloe Councillors have submitted a letter calling for the resignation of Bord Bia CEO Larry Murrin.
A motion to send the letter to all oireachtais members in Galway and Roscommon was passed unanimously at a meeting of local councillors on wednesday (11/02).
The Government won a vote on Wednesday night (11/02) in support of the embattled chairman, which was called by Sinn Féin.
There have been widespread calls for Murrin to step down after it was revealed his company Dawn Meats imported Brazilian beef to Ireland.
Sinn Féin Councillor Dermot Connolly says that the values of Bord Bia need to be put first.
