Well known taxi-hailing platform Bolt has announced it's expansion to Galway.
It's committing to what it calls an "extremely competitive" 5 percent launch commission so drivers can retain a larger share of their earnings.
It comes as the the CCPC has recommended the removal of barriers to Uber and Bolt fully entering the Irish taxi market to meet demand.
But for now, unlike most of Europe and the US, Irish drivers using the apps can only use a registered taxi.
Bolt has operated in Dublin and Cork since 2020, and this latest expansion brings it to a further 21 counties.
