A business case will be submitted to the HSE for the reinstatement of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Ballinasloe.

Since services were cut during the Covid 19 pandemic, young patients have had to travel to Roscommon town for appointments, an 80 kilometre round trip.

CAMHS is a specialist service for people under 18 with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, treating conditions such as depression, anxiety and ADHD.

Sinn Féin TD for Galway/Roscommon Claire Kerrane says that the young people of Ballinasloe need a CAMHS service.
