Galway Bay FM Newsroom - There have been calls for the immediate removal of underwater reeds from Portumna's swimming area.

Independent Councillor Declan Kelly has highlighted the issue with Galway County Council following a number of complaints to him from locals.

He says the reeds have grown above the surface of the water and are causing danger to swimmers.
