Carna conference to explore the emigration of women of the Atlantic coast

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Carna is to host a major emigration conference this weekend.

The three day event will focus on emigration and the women of the Atlantic coast.

The confernece will be officially opened on Friday evening where an art exhibition composed by women from Cill Chiarain and Carna will be showcased.

Saturday's highlights include a discussion on the women of the west in England and a debate on the continuing effects of emigration on the Carna and Cill Chiarain area.

The ticketed event takes place at the Connemara Emigrants Commemorative Centre in Carna.
