Castleblakeney village is to be included as a stop on the Local Link Route 546 service.
It will provide the village with three daily services in the direction of Ballinasloe and Castlerea.
Fine Gael Councillor Alan Harney believes it will reduce rural isolation and provide independence for those without private transport.
