Galway Bay fm newsroom - The chair of the Galway IFA is urging dog owners across the county to be responsible as lambing season continues.

Anne Mitchell says between January and April every year, there will over 3 million lambs born - and there are typically up to 400 attacks recorded during that period.

She says it's about much more than just the number of animals killed, as these incidents cause huge distress to the rest of the flock.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Anne Mitchell says dog owners need to take more responsibility - but the Government could be doing more as well.
