A city councillor has been elected the new chair of the HSE Health Forum West.
The monthly forum brings together public representatives from seven counties in the West and Northwest region with HSE officials.
Serving as a public oversight body, members can ask questions on topics like overspends, capital and local projects, staffing issues, performance metrics, and wait times for health services.
Fianna Fail City Councillor Mike Crowe was elected unanimously as the new chair at a meeting at Merlin Park last evening.
Councillor Crowe says he'll work with everyone to get work done in the interest of public health.
