City resident Mary Jane has been sharing her experience going through homelessness, describing it as soul-destroying.

Simon Communities has launched a report on older adult homelessness at the University of Galway today, which revealed the number of homeless pensioners has more than doubled in 3 years.

66 year old Mary Jane, who has two daughters, has lived in Galway for 50 years and worked as a chef in the city, until back problems forced her to leave the restaurant work

She spoke to our reporter Sarah Slevin after today's event
