City to host Irish premiere of documentary on NYPD killing of Eric Garner

University of Galway will this evening host the Irish premiere of a documentary of a mothers fight for justice after the NYPD killed her son.

Eric Garner, an African-American man, died in 2014 after being put in a illegal choke-hold by a police officer.

"Her Fight, His Name", by award-winning filmmaker Brad Bailey, details his mother Gwen Carr's fight for justice over many years.

It'll be screened at the Institute for Lifecourse and Society this evening at 7pm, followed by panel discussion.
