A long-awaited flood relief scheme in Claregalway is still on track to be done this year.
That was the update to local councillors at a meeting at County Hall this week.
Councillor Cillian Keane raised the issue, noting that it barely takes more than a shower to cause serious issues on the N83.
It was also revealed that during the works later this year, a live traffic monitoring system will be deployed for the first time ever in the West of Ireland.
Fianna Fail Councillor Keane says that's particularly welcome.
